Soil Conservation Article – National Geographic – September 2008
The September 2008 issue of the National Geographic Magazine had a feature cover story on soils called Where Food Begins. Inside the magazine a nine page article article by Charles Mann entitled:  “Our Good Earth – The future rests on soil. Can we protect it?” covers stories from North and South America, Africa and China with wonderful pictures by Jim Richardson. Both the article and pictures can be viewed online at: http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2008/09/soil/mann-text/1
The English edition of the National Geographic is read by 40 million readers – but NG editions are published in many languages and all gave headline feature to the soil conservation story.
