Reduce water costs on-farm
The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries & Food launched a Rainwater 
Harvesting Scheme on 8th March, 2011. The scheme will continue until the end of 2013. Installation of rainwater harvesting equipment will be grant aided at 40% of capital outlay to a maximum investment of €25,000, in other words there is maximum grant of €10,000. The minimum investment to qualify for the scheme is €2,000 per farm. Grants will be awarded on a priority basis considering various factors such as: applicant age, farm system, heavy water usage, economy of quote submitted, disadvantaged areas etc. Full details of the scheme are included in the following downloads.
